Oka Youths Fumes threatened to vote out any lawmakers

After the rotten era of colonialism, some of our lawmakers have suddenly decided to pursuit a foreign lifestyle different from our custom and traditions which has rendered the Nigeria independence to be an empty dream.  

Some past and present lawmakers representing Oka-Akoko South West Local Government Area, Oka, have rejected the customs and traditions of our heritage and opted to emulate the lifestyle of Western culture.

However, to cushion the exotic and neglectful lifestyle of these lawmakers, a social-cultural group - Oka Youth Agenda, cautioned some of these lawmakers against enjoying a lavish lifestyle to counterbalance their neglectful and unusual way of life.

A statement signed by the Prolocutor and President of the group, Comrade, Deji Dara and Comrade, Ogbedan Feyisetan, respectively, Stated that the practice should be discontinued, highlighting that funds used for extravagant lifestyles in Akure and other parts of the country should instead be utilized for the development of Oka-Akoko.

The statement reads:

“The Oka Youth Agenda (OYA) a social-cultural organization, representing a coalition of group of youths in oka, is cautioning Oka lawmakers to avoid extravagant living in Akure and other parts of the country, as it goes against our customs and traditions. 

They must also not neglect the town to rot until the next election, as we will hold accountable any who do not listen. The youth will not repeat the mistake of electing the wrong representatives next time.”

Briefing the newsmen in Oka, the Prolocutor of the Oka Youth Agenda (OYA), Comrade, Deji Dara, explain that the present generation of lawmakers in the town are unprepared to correct the town's issues, only aiming to win elections and benefit from resources meant for the town.

However, he disclosed that certain lawmaker has a hold on some media personnel who were paid to portray them positively despite their lack of action.

“They even paid some media freak to paint them well for a job they didn’t lay a dime on” He had said.
